X-STEM All Access Status Update Season 5

Overview

X-STEM All Access is a free on-demand series for middle and high schoolers designed to get students excited about STEM.

Season 5 was produced in partnership with the National Imperative for Industrial Skills (NIIS), a U.S. Department of Defense workforce initiative to fill the highly technical and in-demand Defense Industry Base (DIB) sector jobs that are critical to our national security. This sector includes many STEM-focused fields including engineering, advanced manufacturing, metrology, cybersecurity, microelectronics, materials science, robotics, computer aided design, and many more.

The all new FREE episodes showcase the exciting careers and inspiring personal journeys of STEM role models. Each 30-minute episode features a STEM role model telling their story through a lively Q&A session with a fellow STEM professional. Graphical elements were incorporated to communicate additional facts and career information to students.

Episodes were released throughout the school year and are available on-demand to view anytime. Many educators registered their classrooms to view the series. The average number of student viewers per educator is 26.

Each episode is accompanied by an NGSS-aligned lesson with an optional SEL (Social Emotional Learning) component.

What People Are Saying

“X-STEM All Access is like an ‘Iron Man’ suit for STEAM educators, helping us to inspire students to confidently enter the field.”
Educator from Amelia Island, FL

“My son is interested in science and math, architecture, and materials. Being able to put that into context, as in what he can do with these things outside of school and gaming, is useful, even aspirational. We appreciate the programming.”
Parent from Potomac, MD

“I love that all lesson plan content and videos are right there. It makes my job easier!”
Homeschool educator from Baltimore, MD

“Great information on reverse engineering and how it is applied in industry. Neither my students or I knew there was a job called metrology – neat to learn about!”
Educator from Charleston, SC

“X-STEM [All Access] provides access to new ideas and careers for my young leaners. They see careers they did not even know existed. Each episode opens their minds to more future opportunities for underserved, underrepresented populations.”
Educator from Philadelphia, PA
