Dr. Eric Brown is prominent microbiologist at the Food and Drug Administration where he serves as Director of the Division of Microbiology. He is especially known for revolutionizing how the FDA identifies and tracks microorganisms that cause foodborne disease outbreaks, such as Salmonella and E. coli. In addition, he spearheaded development of GenomeTrakr, a database that allows local public health agencies and regulatory agencies to deposit data used to ensure food safety.
