Fae Jencks, Manager for Marketing and Engagement, National Geographic Society
Fae Jencks is a Manager for Marketing and Engagement at the National Geographic Society, where she oversees engagement and marketing efforts around the Society’s robust portfolio of science and exploration initiatives.
Prior to joining National Geographic, Fae served as Senior Policy Advisor for Public Engagement in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). In this role, Fae oversaw outreach to science and technology stakeholders on a range of President Obama’s priorities, from bolstering STEM education to taking action in combatting climate change. At the White House, Fae was a part of the team that organized the Annual White House Science Fair, the first-ever White House Maker Faire, and an annual event following the State of the Union called SoSTEM (the State of STEM), where students could meet and hear from scientists and innovators making an impact in a variety of fields.
Fae has also worked in communications and research at the Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force, the Obama 2012 campaign, and at Media Matters for America.
