X-STEM at Travis Air Force Base

About X-STEM

X-STEM at Travis Air Force Base is an Extreme STEM symposium for middle school students featuring interactive presentations by an exclusive group of visionaries who aim to empower and inspire kids about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  These STEM industry leaders are sure to ignite students’ curiosity through storytelling and live demonstrations.  Attendees will also tour U.S. Air Force aircraft and enjoy live music from the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West.

11:05 AM – X-STEM Speaker Major Andrew J. Cobb, Commander, 9th Maintenance Squadron at Beale Air Force Base, United States Air Force

11:40 AM – X-STEM Speaker Dr. Marcus Eriksen, Co-founder and Research Director of the 5 Gyres Institute – Saving Our Seas From Plastic


12:15 PM – Lunch Break – Attendees bring their own lunch!


12:45 – 3:00 PM – U.S. Air Force-led guided tours of aircraft inside the hangar and on the flightline!
