Dear Festival Friends and Supporters,

Happy New Year! 2019 is an exciting year for the USA Science & Engineering Festival team as we gear up to expand our efforts in STEM education, STEM outreach and workforce development across the country.

The success of our annual X-STEM Symposium in Washington, DC, an event featuring interactive presentations from STEM visionaries, inspired us to bring X-STEM to other cities in the United States beginning with X-STEM at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California this February. X-STEM DC, presented by NCR Foundation, will return on March 19, 2019, with over 3,000 students ready to engage with real-life STEM role models. If you are interested in sponsoring an event in a city near you, please contact me directly.

Next up this spring, we are thrilled to introduce the Clippers SciFest SoCal which will take place on March 22-23, 2019 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The goal of this event is to inspire a new generation of STEM professionals on the West Coast, tapping into the LA Clippers strong relationships with businesses, schools, community groups, and government stakeholders in this market. This event will start off smaller in size than the DC Expo but will incorporate all of the components of our signature event to ensure great success. We are happy to welcome new partners to this event as well as longstanding USASEF sponsors and exhibitors.

Beginning this February, the Nifty Fifty Program will send a wide array of talented professionals into classrooms in Washington DC and surrounding counties in Maryland and Virginia, inspiring kids with their stories and personal experiences in their STEM careers.  This educational program allows us to continue to reach students and teachers throughout the school year.

With the theme “Vision for STEM”, seeing today’s students as tomorrow’s explorers, discovers and innovators, the 2020 Expo is set to return on April 25-26, 2020 once again at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. As the nation’s largest STEM education and workforce development event, we are proud to continue this decade-long effort to inspire the next generation.

Beginning with Sneak Peek Friday on April 24, 2020, we’ll welcome thousands of K-12 students, parents, teachers, college students, job seekers and STEM enthusiasts to this one of a kind event. For sponsors and exhibitors, this is the perfect opportunity to connect directly with your audience. We truly believe that if you invest in STEM, you are investing in our future.

Throughout 2019 and 2020, we will continue to refine and reshape the Festival experience. Without our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, performers, volunteers, donors, and Festival family members, none of this would be possible.  We thank you for your service to our shared mission and we count on your continued support.

From the USA Science & Engineering board and staff, we wish you all a safe and joyous New Year!
